Mr Volk,

I am really confused on how to get the answer for question 15 on the Practice Test. The correct answer makes sense, but i just don’t know how to get there.

Please help!!!

The question is worded such that the distance from the center to the chord is 6. Distance is always measured perpendicular to the line. So GE is perpendicular to AB. Also, the perpendicular chord through the center would also bisect the chord AB. So you end up with a 6-8-10 right triangle with hypotenuse of EB.

Never mind. I got it.
